Homeless Prevention Program Nonprofit Application
Nonprofits that serve Irving residents can apply for up to $230,000 in one-time funding through Fiscal Year 2024-25 General Fund dollars. Awards are expected to be made for a term of 12 months.
Housing and Redevelopment is seeking community-based nonprofit organizations interested in working with the City to provide Homeless Prevention Services that address housing instability by providing or connecting Irving households to assistance, such as:
- Housing Stability: Rent and mortgage assistance, utility assistance
- Food Assistance: Access to food pantries, mobile food pantries and seasonal programs
- Financial Empowerment: Financial education and household budgeting support
- Workforce Development: Employment counseling, job fairs, certifications through local community colleges and access to computer labs
- Senior Programs: Transportation, home-delivered meals and home safety modifications
- Educational Programs: GED prep classes, ESL training, various other educational certifications
- Shared Partners (on-site): Access to healthcare, mental health services, domestic violence counseling
