Stay Safe

This winter make sure to take care of people, pets, pipes and plants:

  1. People: Dress in layers and warm clothing. Check on friends, family and neighbors, especially the elderly, and make sure they have heating and warm clothing.
  2. Pets: Allow animals to sleep indoors in a warm and dry place.
  3. Pipes: Insulate outside and exposed pipes, and drip indoor faucets.
  4. Plants: Cover or bring inside plants that can't tolerate cold temperatures.

Renters & Multifamily Communities

Contact property management or your landlord as soon as possible with any maintenance issues regarding utilities, including heating, leaking water pipes or windows and doors not closing properly. Residents should have the property’s emergency contact numbers if assistance is needed during inclement weather events.

If a resident has reported an emergency maintenance issue to property management and not experienced corrective action within 24 hours, contact Code Enforcement at (972) 721-4829 or submit an online complaint.

Private Property Owners with Water and Sewer Issues

Homeowners should call Irving Water Utilities for water- and sewer-related maintenance issues, including requests to temporarily shut off water service, at (972) 721-2281 or (972) 721-2664. Staff is available 24/7 to assist as needed.
