High Grass and Weeds a Violation of City Code

The City of Irving’s Code Enforcement Department reminds residents about high grass and weeds.

Grass and weeds more than 10 inches in height are a violation of city code. Grass and weeds must be mowed to the edge of the roadway, including any alleyways. Edging is required along sidewalks and curbs. Property owners and tenants are responsible for keeping lawns maintained. Refusal to comply within seven days of a notice can result in a citation and the city bringing the property into compliance at the owner’s expense.
