A Message of Hope: Illuminate Irving

  Go Back

In honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month in October, the Irving Family Advocacy Center (IFAC) is preparing for the ninth year of Illuminate Irving. This year, the IFAC will transition from an evening event to an art exhibit with the help of the Irving Independent School District (IISD).

The IISD Art Department has collaborated with the IFAC to offer its art students the opportunity to participate in this event. High school art students throughout the district were given guidelines and themes for the art exhibit and submitted their own original art for consideration. This year’s theme is a message of hope, “With Survivors, Always,” highlighting the importance of partnering with survivors to achieve safety and support.

The art pieces will be on public display to raise awareness of domestic violence and the services provided by the IFAC, as well as local domestic violence agencies.

The art will be on display Oct. 22-31 at Irving Archives and Museum, 801 W. Irving Blvd., Wednesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 4 p.m.
