City Council Administrative Support
The City Secretary's Office provides administrative support to the Mayor and City Council. Primary duties include council correspondence, meeting facilitation, maintaining calendars, project coordination with city staff, and organizing and preparing proclamations as directed by the Mayor.

Public Meeting Process
In Texas, every regular, special or called meeting of a governmental body shall be open to the public, except as provided by the Texas Open Meetings Act.
Open Records Request
Submit an open records request through the City Secretary's Office, in accordance with the Texas Public Information Act and city procedures.
Meeting Schedules, Agendas, Minutes and Video Archive
City Council meetings are held on designated Thursdays at 7 p.m. in City Council Chambers, City Hall, 825 W. Irving Blvd.
Land Development Codes
Approved by the Irving City Council, the Land Development Codes address city building codes, zoning ordinances and development standards.
Code of Ordinances
Approved by the Irving City Council, the City Code of Civil and Criminal Ordinances covers issues of general public health, safety and welfare for the City of Irving.
City Council
The Irving City Council consists of a mayor and eight council members. All council members are elected for three-year terms.
Board Application
Board and commission members are appointed by the Mayor and City Council each November. Appointments serve a two-year term.
Abandoned Vehicle Auctions:
Vehicles deemed abandoned under Texas Transportation Code Section 683 are auctioned online through Lone Star Auctioneers' platform.
