Neighborhood Planning

The City of Irving's Neighborhood Planning initiative is a grassroots outreach effort to help residents achieve a desired future for their neighborhoods.

Neighborhood planning is a collaborative effort between residents, city staff and community partners to create a shared vision for the future of a neighborhood.

These plans reflect what neighbors value about their area and identify potential opportunities to improve quality of life. The ideas and projects highlighted in each plan are not a checklist for the city alone but a set of possibilities that can be supported by a range of partners, including nonprofit organizations, local businesses, faith-based groups, and residents themselves.

Community feedback plays a vital role in shaping these plans. It helps guide decisions about future land use and ensures that any proposed changes reflect the character and aspirations of the people who live and work in the area.

As North Texas continues to grow, neighborhood planning helps communities stay proactive, ensuring they are prepared for change while preserving what makes each neighborhood unique.
